Ivan Nebesnyi

Ivan Nebesnyi was born in 1971 in Ternopil, Ukraine. From 1990 to 1995 he attended course of composition (class of Myroslav Skoryk) at Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy (Ukraine). In 1998 he finished a post-graduate course at that institution. In 1997 he won  Kulturkontakt Austria scholarship for participation in the Fifth International Academy for New Composition, where he studied composition under the supervision of Boguslav Schaeffer (Poland-Austria) and  electronic music (class of Marek Choloniewski, Poland).

In 1996 Ivan Nebesnyi founded an ensemble of contemporary academic music – CLUSTER (Lviv, Ukraine). Since that time, Cluster has performed in different countries such as Ukraine, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Lithuania.  As the director of the ensemble Ivan Nebesnyi organized first music performances of composers from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the USA, Poland, Czech Rep., Canada, Japan.

In 2006 – 2011 Ivan Nebesnyi  worked  as a director of the “Kyiv Music Fest”, an annual international contemporary music festival (Kyiv, Ukraine).

Ivan Nebesnyi is a winner of the Competiton of composers (the International Youth Music Forum in Kyiv,Ukraine, 1996), laureate of the Levko Revutskyi National Prize (Ukraine, 2002), laureate of the Mykhailo Verykivskyi National Prize (Ukraine, 2011), laureate of the Theatrical Prize “Kyiv Pectoral” (Ukraine, 2011).

His works have been performed in numerous music festivals in Austria, Algeria, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Rep., England, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey,the USA, Russia and Ukraine.

Composers
