125 Years of Inspiration, Elegance, and Art!
On this day, October 4, 1900, the Grand City Theatre opened its doors for the very first time. This became a landmark date in the history of the Lviv National Opera — the beginning of a new, innovative chapter in the cultural life of the city.

Today, together with the entire nation, the Lviv National Opera faces new trials of the current wartime reality, standing strong to preserve and affirm Ukrainian cultural values.
We believe that art heals. That is why we continue offering audiences a chance to experience unique emotions, restore their inner strength, and enjoy the finest classical Ukrainian and international opera and ballet productions, as well as contemporary premieres.

Despite the challenges, the theatre with its 125-year legacy lives and breathes as one organism, tirelessly working for Ukraine’s victory.
We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for making it possible to live and to create.
On October 9–10, we invite you to join us for the anniversary celebrations!
